Desperate Fans Demand Crimes be Legalized

Coldsnap
An uncommonly slow Coldsnap rumor season has left many Magic: the Gathering fans desperately searching for some way to bring back the fast-churning rumor mill of old. The natural cycle of Wizard employees breaking their non-disclosure agreements, thieves reporting cards from stolen print sheets, and public forums disseminating this information across the Internet seems to have been slaughtered by an aggressive lawsuit recently filed by Wizards of the Coast. However, some fans are unwilling to accept "no spoilers" as an answer, and have devised a plan of their own.

A group of fans have banded together and formed Citizens for the Responsible Expression and Advancement of Magic. CREAM's message is simple, and perhaps best expressed by message board poster MishrasEnema.

"If WOTC wants to be the bully and hide behind their legal jargon of 'protecting intellectual property' then we’ll just have to bring this to the next level," he explains. "We call upon Congress to pass legislation which legalizes any and all actions necessary to bring us spoilers; including, but not limited to: breach of contract, larceny, fraud, negligence, and manslaughter."

These thoughts seem to have resonated well among the Magic community, as CREAM has gained over 350 members since its creation just two days ago. These fans come from diverse backgrounds – some are white, some are male – but they are all united under the cause of retrieving the spoilers which have been filched from them.

"Well, sure, official previews start on Monday, and the prerelease is only two weeks away, but it's really a matter of principal for me," remarks poster Timmy12114. "The principal is that I need my spoilers right now."

Unfortunately, no members of Congress were available to comment on this issue, as they were all busy addressing actual problems. However, CREAM’s prospects may be somewhat hindered by the fact that all but three of its members are minors, and these three all live outside the United States.
