It wasn't bad. Probably better than the first one, and Wolverine really rockedl...for a cannuck.
Having said that, this movie was still a set-up for future X-Men movies. It should be noted that all of the principles are under contract for X3-5.

I just got back from watching aforementioned movie. It was pretty decent. It didn't rock my dingaling into a hour and a half hard-on, but it was mighty sexy with out doing that.
The movie itself was pretty typical when it comes to sequels of action movies. Once the plot of the original is set down the writers can write a another less character involved plot and start using up the unused or undoable action sequences that they wanted in the last movie. It was very fucking good action by the way.
Quick recommendation.. don't blink during the fight sequence with Nightcrawler. You will end up hating yourself later.

X2 did a very tasteful setting up of a sequel. I hate to see movies where they set it up for the sequel and I'm left wondering what happened to the last fifteen minutes of the film.

Yeah, a lot of the material hinting at a sequel was from the viewer's knowledge of Jean's transformation into Phoenix, and not the director/screenwriter hitting you over the head, so there wasn't as much as there typically would be taken away from the ending in the name of setting something up.
I also enjoyed how Cyclops was barely in it

Colossus(sp) rocked for the two minutes they had him in the movie. I was also dissapointed to see Beast in the movie as Hank McCoy on TV for two seconds, but doing blue make up for Cummings and Stamos was already a hastle so I can understand them not using Beast in this movie.

I thought the opening Nightcrawler scene was amazing. The Colossus scene was cool except that he didn’t have a Russian accent. Gambit and Jubilee both suck anyway, neither of them were orginally from the book. Marvel added them later on because of the cartoon.
