A mysterious sword was found on Third Ea-err, Mirrodin, allowing Lio-err, Raksha to see into the future.

You do realise that the card dosn't make any sense, right?
Either this card is completly pointless and illogical, or I completly missed the joke, if any. I'll hold on rating it until I've figured out which.

How is it pointless/illogical? It gives each spell you play scry equal to its converted mana cost.

Either there is no funny and you deserve a brutal flaming, or I have just been seriously fucking Annorax'd.

It's Thundercats, dudes. Hence Third Earth, Lion-O, and the the sword...
Though it seems like it should be an enchantment.
Not really related, but: Thundercats outtakes. (http://www.claws-and-paws.com/thundercats/index.php)

I'm confused as to the bit in the reminder text about "where 4 is the number of Loci in play", but I like the Thundercats gag. I'm gonna venture a 3/5 until I see an explanation of that reminder text.

What loci? :masked:
Anyway, the reason behind that is originally it involved memnarch and changing lands into loci, but i changed it to this. Apparently i wasn't thorough enough.
Anyway, fixed.

Well, with the non-quirky reminder text, I'll give it 4/5. Could have been funnier, but at least, for those of us who watched cartoons in the '80s (lots of cartoons), it makes sense now.

Yep, I've been Annoraxed. Not to mention there's an artifact in 5D that lets you pay an extra mana to put Scry 2 on an instant/sorcery.

You don't have to have been growing up in the 80s to know the Thundercats. Cartoon Network ran the show in syndication for years.

Ah, thunder cats, I never saw it when it was new, but i did see in on Cartoon Netowrk in syndication... ah, those were the days, before they got uber-egotistical and became obsessed with their own cartoons.
Anyway, card is sehr gut., but needs funnier text...

Spell: 4/5 - giving the enchant itself Scry seems a bit much.
Chop: 0.5/5 - way to suck, blurry image.
Overall: 2.5/5. Potential wasted.

A truly solid card. I'm going to award you some point value based on the number of people you Annoraxed alone, so let's see. The image was somewhat grainy, but the sword was well done and I can't dock you too much for finding a good image to use on it. I'd say that the Scry mechanic fits pretty well here, and of course if you know the reference it becomes amusing.
A solid card to start, plus a point for the beautiful esoteric nature of it give you 4.5/5. Excellent work, commodore.

If the funny was less esoteric it would be better IMO. Everyone knows Thundercats. 'Sight beyond Sight' didn't trigger anything until it was explained, however...

Yep. Happened a while back after people started saying that if you give a card a poor rating for not understanding it, you're "no better than Annorax". People just shortened it to "Annorax'd" and it's become fairly useful. As you can probably tell by Annorax's post on the first page, he's accepted its use.

I got the reference as soon as I saw it. Which in a way is kinda sad.
Anywho, as I was a huge fan of the show in the 80's, I grant it a 4.5/5... It was funny, and confused the hell out of others. That makes up for the blurry pic easily.

What does Scry have to do with it?
the 'Sight beyond sight' ability of the sword of omens gave Lion-o the ability to see the other thundercats 'in trouble'....this would, as i gather, be equivilant to the scry ability, to see what the future holds...

It just makes it so that Lion-O can see further away... nothing to do with being 'in trouble'.... scry makes you look further away in your library.
You are almost not an idiot.
It's the Sword of Omen btw.
Wow... we could start a thread about what bad 80's cartoons we all watched (would change from the bad music thread :D)

there is absolutely zero amounts of funny in this card. There isn't even funny surrounding the card. It's actually stealing funny from other places and throwing them away becuase funny has no place in this card.
