Wizards of the Coast Announces Change to Type One
Seattle, Washington — Coming fast off the heels of the Fact or Fiction restriction, Wotc has announces yet another change to Type One gaming. The recent announcement has to do with Type One's long standing abscence from sanctioned tournaments. A Wizards representative stated, "We at wizards would like to apologise for ignoring the type one players for so long, and to correct our mistakes, we will be changing our attitude towards the format.", the spokemen continued by adding "Effective January First, wizards will stop ignoring the format, and instead, publicly humiliate it and heckle its most loyal fans."
One classic player at the event cried out in anguish at the proceedings, which prompted the representative to have him removed from the building. Wizards concluded the event by setting fire to half a dozen moxen in front of a stunned crowd. Three men were burned and two trampled horribly in the chaos that followed, when more type one players in the crowd tried to save the precious artifacts. Wizards insured the media that the unfortunate burns those players suffered was exactly what they deserved for playing a format which doesn't make Wizards any money.
Reaction from the internet community has been swift, with the denizens of Beyond Dominia, a type one haven on the internet, being most vocal. One Bdominia regular was quoted as saying "this is terrible. this is terrible. oops sorry about hitting the post button twice. oops sorry about hitting the post button twice." And yet another player responded with his heart breaking cry of "ths is teh wrost things to hapen evr." Obvious so torn with grief that basic english had become impossible.
On a brighter note, the type two community has yet another reason to rejoice as a new campaign to increase magic sales has Wotc giving out free Foil Call of the Herds to any player that successfully shames a type one fan into playing type two. This marketting campaign will last until 2003 or until both of the worlds remaining classic players have been converted.
