Battle of Wits Deck Wins Grudge Match: MiseTings Writers Speechless

By: Ged - January 08, 2002

New York, New York — Well known internet writer Toby Wachter decided to play a deck consisting of 247 cards and 4 copies of the infamous Battle of Wits at the most recent grudge match. His report and justification for this can be found at Neutral Ground's site.

Dumbfounded Mike Bregoli released the following for a statement: "What the hell? A Battle of Wits deck won a grudge match qualifier? How does anyone find a witty reply for that? I can't insult him for playing it in the first place, since it worked, and I can't insult his opponents for losing to him because he went undefeated! Dammit, this must be The Apocalypse!"

While other misetings writers sat for hours slack-jawed staring at their screen, Bregoli was reportedly seen running through the streets wearing only a bedsheet screaming about the end of the world.

Some MiseTings writers were impressed by Wachter's accomplishment. "I don't know how this could have happened!" Declared frequent MiseTings contributor Cavedan. "If someone can mise savagely enough to win with a Battle of Wits deck, then there must be no limit to the mises that may be possible in the future! Mr. Wachter, I respectfully salute you on raising the bar for all of us."

In an effort to jump on the bandwagon, Gary Wise is rumored to be writing a 5 part series of articles on the merits of every single card in Wachter's 247 card deck. Mr. Wise hopes that his articles will be informative and fun for both the beginner and experienced player. Sources indicate that directly after this announcement was made, the entire magic community collectively groaned and cursed.
