Misetings Articles Full of Lies

By: Anonymous - January 14, 2002

A shocking revelation rocked the online Magic community yesterday when the articles posted on www.Misetings.com were shown to be full of falsehoods and lies. Some articles had no basis whatsoever in truth and were completely fabricated. The heroes in this disturbing story are the fine folks behind Operation Defecation at www.Teamacademy.com.

Team Academy originally launched Operation Defecation to single out and expose terrible Magic websites by sending in fake submissions and getting them posted. After reading some suspicious articles on Misetings, they immediately set their targets on Mike Bregoli, the site’s editor. They succeeded in getting an article published on January 2, 2002. The article was entitled “Wizards Announces Emergency Banning of Call of the Herd,” and recounted an entirely untrue tale. Yesterday, they revealed to the world the fact that they were the real authors and that Misetings was publishing utter lies.

When Bregoli was reached for comment and presented with the evidence, he broke down in tears. “They’re right,” he wailed, “Nothing on the site is true at all!”

Many expressed their grief and outrage at the news. Others, however, had been suspicious already. One such player was Kurtis Hahn. “After I read that article about me threatening to eat little kids, I had my doubts. I mean, I had no memory of that happening at all!” he said. “But it was on a website, so I assumed it must be true. I figured I had said those things in a drunken fit of rage or something like that. Now I find I’ve been beating myself up for no reason – I was innocent the whole time!”
