Adrian Sullivan Takes Credit For Yet ANOTHER Deck

By: Kurt - January 20, 2002

Madison, WI - This past weekend, Adrian Sullivan, known to very few as "The Corrupter," took credit for yet another deck he didn't design or have any input in building, complained fellow Madisonian and Cabal Rogue teammate, Brian Kowal.

"Someone came to Adrian about a deck, and he gave out my version of Balancing 'Tings without consulting myself or anyone else from Cabal Rogue. The next thing I know, someone at the San Diego Masters is thanking Adrian for 'Corrupted 'Tings.'"

Added Kowal, "It's this kind of credit-mongering that the group doesn't need and has been very good at avoiding in the past."

Cabal Rogue was once regarded as one of the top deck-designing "teams" in the country giving its members several top GP finishes and boasting such popular decks as Ponza, Corrupter Black, Toolbox, Controll, and Bighead.dec, among others.
Since its heyday back in late 1999 however, the "team" has become a group of washed-up has-beens with Brian Kowal not having any individual PT success; Adrian Sullivan has not qualified for a Tour in a year, and a team that claims Mike Flores certainly can't be the most elite team in the city.

"The real problem is," commented overseas member and GP Champion Ben Seck, "is that there is a tech-leaking problem on the team. Several others knew about 'Song of Flood' at PT-New Orleans when the deck wasn't supposed to be given out."

Finally I was able to contact Adrian Sullivan at his local coffee shop hangout and he had this to say, "I'm not sure where the leak is, but Corrupted Song wasn't supposed to get out before the PT. I took a lot of time designing that deck; playtesting that deck; and stealing it from Dan Flood. I don't get any respect on this team."

After prodding about the stealing of decks issue brought on by Brian Kowal, Sullivan had this to say, "Don't you people know who I am?! I gave Madison it's flavor and its allure. Without me, there would be no Magic in this city!"

Shortly thereafter Sullivan was reported to order another 64 oz. cup of the "Coffee of the Day" and rant about how Wizards didn't give him anything for them using "his creation, 5-Color" in the Invitational this past year.
