Reader Response to "Kai Wins Again"
It seems that MD's "Kai Wins Again" article, posted Monday, has elicited some strong feelings from some readers.
[Warning: Potentially Offensive Content]

First of all i'd like to compliment with the great site. I often get a good laugh out of the articles. However today i encountered the article titled: "Cock Shit: Kai Wins Again"...
I want to stress firstly that im not offended by the language at all. I was warned about the offensive content so i could expect that. owever, the problem i do have with this article - besides being not all that funny - is the obvious racist comment about spanish speaking people: "This means that an overwhelming majority of the players in the tournament were Spanish
speakers and thus possessed the Magic ability of an American with Down Syndrome."
Of course i understand that it is supposed to be cynical, because i believe the people that write for Misetings are good people. I believe in your good intentions, but my opinion remains that this racist comment is in very bad taste. Already i am hearing too many ignorant remarks, resembling the one made in the article. And this article of yours wont change that for the better.

Note: The first part of this e-mail IS offensive, answering your article "Cock Shit: Kai Wins Again", but not the second part-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Ok, now that i've answered your horrible article in the same terms, i can now say the rigth answer: ¿Why this hate? ¿Are you so arrogant to write this SERIOUS? Then, please, don't ever come to Europe, you'll know civilization, something you don't know there in the McDonald's where you live, you're not wellcome.
Of course, there's allways an exception, like the few americans that came for fun, like Wise, or Pustilnik, and so on, but Envy is so big where you are that you can't see the sun.

PD: MD (whomever you are), don't worry, Kai'll win again, and your homosexual tendeances will be pleased, without the need for a false name or initials :) OH! I almost forgot one thing. You ignorant, PORTUGAL is Europe too, but they Speak Portuges, not Spanish, as I do. ¿Did you ever see a map? ¿Maybe is truth the rumor that all NothAmericans are SO ignorants? Please, let me laugth at your face HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Idiot.

Hi:
Maybe you don't understand what are the differences between humour and
offense.
The next phrase might be tolerated as humour, although it offends exactly 670 players that attended GP Lisbon:
"Beating out 670 complete and total retards for the title"
But the next paragraph it's not offense but pure racism:
"an overwhelming majority of the players in the tournament were Spanish speakers and thus possessed the Magic ability of an American with Down Syndrome"
I wonder whether you, the editor and the writer, belong to a nazi organization or something similar, or, most probably, you are the named
Donwn Syndromed American.
Anyway, you are attacking not only all spanish speakers (there are a lot in the world), but hurting your own country which has a enourmos amount of spanish speaking people working and living there.
I hope you don't represent the opinion of all Americans, who are in their majority, at least thats what I feel, nice and tolerant people.
From someone who calls himself Aldofo:
Putos miseros yankis de mierda, no teneis cerebro alguno. ¿Que os pasan q se os han meado encima?, es q hay que ser lerdos hijos de puta como vosotros. Si os quejais de q Kai Biddle ha ganado otro grand prix es porque tiene mas

A somewhat random comment from "Antonio":

And finally, "Dopechou" writes:

Well put, Dopechou.
While I did not write the article in question, I did publish it, so I feel somewhat responsible for the ill-feelings that it caused for some readers. All I can say is that MiseTings is meant purely for entertainment, and it should not be taken seriously.
I try to make sure not to publish anything hurtful or offensive. For each article that is submitted I ask myself, "Will someone be really hurt by these words?" If so, the article is either edited or denied. If someone wrote an article implying that all Americans are "obese, McDonalds eating, ignorant fools" I would not be offended by it, and I didn't think that people would be offended by the content of the Kai article.
Finally, I think it is fairly obvious that the author of the article, MD, is not an ignorant hatemonger, he just pokes fun at ignorant hatemongers...
