Magic: The Gathering Slammed by Online Comic
The popular online comic Penny Arcade insulted the sport of Magic: The Gathering in their January 28th comic strip. The strip illustrates a VCR complaining about how he would no longer be able to spit on magic players if the game was just played online. In addition, there is a mock-magic card insulting the players of the sport.
The reaction from magic players was mixed as to the content of the comic strip. About half seemed resigned to the fact that while they could insult people who were also magic players, thus achieveing a sense of superiority, they remained a mockery to the elusive world of real people.
the other half of the magic community reacted with a mixture of denial and outrage. "I mean, come on! How can a sorcery have a tap symbol, sorceries aren't even permanents! That card doesn't even have a casting cost! Those guys are dumbasses, haha," cried one seething player upon seeing the strip.
Zvi Moshowitz could not be reached for comment concerning his resemblance to the man depicted on the mock-card.
