Forsythe forced to be Timmy

By: slanter - February 04, 2002

Aaron Forsythe, editor of Magicthegathering.com, recently complained about his treatment in Wizards of the Coast's Future Future League. As a relative newcomer to the WotC staff, Aaron has been cast into the role of Timmy by his coworkers.

Wizards' development philosophy states that sets must contain cards for all kinds of players. They have designated young players who like huge monsters and 'cool' if unwieldly effects as 'Timmy'. The role of Timmy has traditionally ben used as a hazing experience for new WotC staff.

To fulfill his role as Timmy, Forsythe's FFL decks must each contain 10 creatures with power over 5, and can use no card with a converted mana cost of less than four. When he lives long enough to cast a creature, he must shout, "I choose you, Pikachu!" In addition, he must wear a baseball cap and ragged jeans at all times, and when he loses a game, the winner is allowed to give him a wedgie and take all his Call of the Herds in bad trades.

Forsythe, whose FFL record stands at 0-14, was quoted as saying "These guys are jsut trying to make themselves feel big. I was a Pro Tour fixture! I'm better than all of them! As soon as I get to 8 mana I'll show them!" He then squeaked "Wait till you guys see this monster in Judgement! He's 15/16! Way better than Polar Kraken!"
