Parents Beg Son to Abandon Magic for Drugs and or Alcohol

By: Nenlaven - March 21, 2002

Louisville, KY - "Look at him in there," Tom Frakes says, gesturing through the bedroom door where a young man can be seen poring over a stack of cards, "Sitting in there all the time, playing with those damned cards. Why can't he just go out and smoke a bowl or something?"

Andrew is the only child of Tom and Jill Frakes. A once model student and star athlete who now would rather discuss the dominance of blue in the Type 2 format than the rushing average of the Indianapolis Colts, and who thinks that the new Serra Angel is far more appealing than any real life woman he can think of.

"I just can't see where we went wrong," His mother laments. "We gave him everything he ever wanted, supported him in every endeavour. I remember when we used to go to the school every friday night to watch him quarterback the football team. Now on fridays he sits all night in some stupid comic book store, playing that damned game, and hanging out with kids who think that "Fuck" is the culmination of thousands of years of human expression, or 40 year old men who need a second car to haul around their ass."

Andrew is baffled by his parents feelings. "Its not like I am on drugs, or coming home drunk every day, throwing up all over the floor!", he says.

"I wish!" Responds his dad. "At least if you get drunk enough you might finally get laid!. I love you son, but if you don't bring home some 14 year old slut that you knocked up by Christmas, you are gonna have to find someplace else to live."
