Judgement Preview Completion Date Moved Up
The Sideboard Online announced today that due to the unintentional early release of the Judgment Spoiler, the target date for the completion of Gary Wise's color-by-color set review has been moved up to October 31, 2002.
"We're really excited by the opportunity to offer his timely information to the Magic community", said the current Sideboard editor (whose name is completely absent from the actual site due to his being a participant in the Federal Witness Relocation Program). "We understand that reviews for a new set are most useful when the set is fresh. After all, once you get your head beaten in a few dozen times by Wild Mongrel most players start to figure out that it's pretty good. But the exhaustive amount of work involved in getting a whole set reviewed means we often aren't able to produce the finished product as quickly as we'd like."
Many Sideboard readers expressed delight at the thought of getting the inside information on the newest Magic set so quickly
"Man, this is going to be great," exclaimed long-time tournament scrub Carlos Romero. "Ever since the Odyssey reviews finished up this month I've been really tearing up the drafts at my local store. I actually won a game last night based on Gary's recommendation that Beast Attack is a first pick. I may have some trouble with full Odyssey Block drafts for awhile, but just wait until Halloween!"
In a seemingly unrelated development that for some reason found its way into this story, an employee of Leaping Lizards software, developer of the Magic Online computer game, was found dead in an alley near his home. Foul play is a near certainty. Police said there were few clues as to the identity of the killer, other than the fact that the victim's right pinky (also known as "The finger that hits Return when you least expect it") had been removed.
