OMS to Quit Magic in Disgust Over "F*^king Liars"
Orlando, FLA - In a turn of events which left the Magic community stunned, long-time Pro and ambassador to the game Steve O'Mahoney-Shwartz (aka OMS) has decided to quit Magic. When queried about the resons for this abrupt decision, OMS was quoted as saying "I'm sick and tired of all the fucking liars and cheaters taking over a game that used to be pure and fun. When your supposed best friend joins the pig-fucking liars, it's time to hang up the wand."
Apparently, OMS's disgust over an incident which took place on Day 2 of the American National Championships has left him disappointed and disillusioned over the state of the game. Jon Finkel, widely recognized as the "guy-who-used-to-be-good-until-Kai-showed-up", told OMS that he'd drafted a Wayward Angel, when in fact it was a Kirtar's Wrath that had been picked.
OMS, while shamelessly scouting for his upcoming match with Finkeltron, eventually found out from EDT that Jon had 'stretched the truth'. While the rationale for expecting honest replies when querying your next round opponent about his deck escapes this reporter, OMS went ballistic. After quickly dispatching the hapless Finkel in the match itself, fireworks ensued.
Details are sketchy, but apparently OMS was questioning whether Jon had ever lied to him before. Answers to such questions as "Do I look fat in this" or "Will I ever find true love" were now suspect in OMS's agitated mind.
When interviewed later, OMS hotly denied that his quitting the game had anything to do with a string of sub-par results that left him off the Pro Tour gravy train.
