Players Excited to Start "Ed Fearing"

By: NBSKID - June 04, 2002

The new Judgment wish mechanic has excited many players, for many think the new mechanic is quite broken.

"I can't wait to end step Ed Fear for a gainsay!" said one excited player, Chet Masterson.

The wish mechanic, a series of five cards that lets players "cheat" and pull cards from their sideboard, was first tested a little more than a year ago by Magic pro Ed Fear, who was suspended for a year for pulling a card from his sideboard and putting it into his hand.

Wizards of the Coast research and development are worried that players will get confused however, calling the wishes tutors and calling tutors such as the vampiric tutor "Ed Fearing".

Mark Rosewater commented, "We here at Wizards understand that there is a difference between Ed Fearing and tutoring and we hope the players understand that!"
