Good Man of the Week: JT Money

By: KK - November 18, 2002

“We thought he was gone, but now he’s come back again. Last week it was funny, but now the joke’s wearing thin.” – Ben Folds Five

That’s right folks, I just couldn’t stay away. I missed all the shots taken at me because no one else was quite as creative.

I can think of no one better to herald the return of Good Man of the Week than Neil Reeves.

For those of you not completely familiar with JT Money, let me give you some background. JT’s dad, Jed, was a poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed. One day ole Jed was a shootin’ at some food, when out from the ground come a bubblin’ crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

The rest is history. Neil is the biggest of hicks. I mean if you walked down the street and saw him with his chewed up baseball cap and toothpick sticking out of his mouth, you might think he was a suburban yuppie. But no. Neil doesn’t sport this look as a fad. As far as he knows it is indeed the way to look.

The first time I met Neil, Craig Wescoe invited me to money draft against him. Kenny Hsuing, John Marks, and myself against Craig, Doug Tice, and this mountain of a hick, Neil Reeves. If I knew then, what I know now, I would have run for the hills faster than you can pick spurs off a gunnysack. I am not really sure what that means, but it sounds good.

As it turns out Neil is one of the premier limited players in the world, and perhaps the best in the United States. Expect many good things from this humorous hillbilly. Just don’t expect a high five, you won’t get one.

So for leaving more PT players hanging than women who pretend they want to date them, and for being one of the US’s last great hopes. I award Neil “JT Money” Reeves The newly resurrected Good Man of the Week!
