Major Change In Magic Causes Idiots Everywhere to Quit

Chicago, IL -- Announcements on Sideboard.com and at the recent Pro Tour Chicago about the changing face of Magic in 8th edition has prompted thousands of Magic players to give up and quit the game, much like every other major change over the course of Magic history.

"Man, this is exactly like the time they created Type 2. And the time they rotated Extended. And the time they rotated Extended AGAIN!" said one player who is selling his complete collection on eBay while the cards still have "some value to somebody."

"I remember when they wrecked the value of my complete Fallen Empires set and yet they still refused to ban Necropotence! Even that wasn't as bad as this..." grumbled one grizzled pro-tour veteran.

Dan Bock, notable Pro-Tour regular and regional card trader had one positive thing to say about the new set - "I like the land cards."

"Dual Lands for sale" exclaimed one individual upon walking in to the venue at the Chicago Hyatt Regency hotel. "Everything I have MUST GO!" Dealers at the dealer tables didn't have the heart to tell him his duals were worthless since they were rotated out of extended. That didn't stop the individual from blaming the new 8th Edition design.

Outside the venue, Chicago Police dispersed angry land-tappers with clouds of tear gas unlike anything the city has seen since the 1967 Democratic Convention.
