The Words of War Dilemma: Baloth!

By: Negator - February 26, 2003

JP made a good point in that the Baloth is more difficult to slip in, but he has missed the big issue. Sealed decks nowadays need a bomb to break through, and Words of War cannot provide that quick an advantage as, say Starstorm can, especially more than one.

The Baloth is all one will need to turn a 3-color spreadout pool into a 2-color beatdown that can easily take you as far as round 6, espescially when combined with Wirewood Savage and double Krosan Vorine.

As I believe, Sealed deck is, like the laws of gravity, what you make of it. Baloth allows adjusting the card pool to be much easier. Words of War, on the other hand, does not have to exist if you do not believe in it.

My personal pick order:

1. Rorix Bladewing
2. Starstorm
3. Starstorm
4. Starstorm
5. Ravenous Baloth
