The Words of War Dilemma: Words!

By: jpmeyer - February 26, 2003

This week we are here to discuss the Words of War dilemma. Yan is of the impression that Ravenous Baloth is the better rare in sealed. This opinion is shared widely. As both Yan and most of the Magic playing world believe this, it will probably come as little surprise to you that I disagree.

Words of War is by far the better rare card in sealed and let me tell you why. If you just look at the card's raw power, I can possibly see picking the Baloth. The biggest problem with Baloth is that it's harder to fit into your deck than Words, and I'm not just talking about the casting cost. It's just not as easy to slip a Baloth in as it is a Words.

And as usual, the pick order:

1. Bane of the Living
2. Words of War
3. Mobilization
4. Patriarch's Bidding
5. Ravenous Baloth
