April 28th 2003: Another German Qs For Worlds.
In a press release earlier today it was confirmed that the winner of the Magic Online World Championship Qualifier was indeed a very reclusive woman from the quaint town of Hamburg, Germany.
HershellaB, 45, aka "Ritva," of the online clan PTMUMS, took home the gold this weekend in the Magic Online World Championship Qualifier. Her story is quite fascinating. Apparently only having learned the game 3 weeks ago, her run of successes was remarkable: throughout the qualifying tournaments she did not manage to lose a single game to her online opponents.
Her top 8 opponents did little to stand in her way either. After dispatching "KibsMom" in the quarters and "Soooooo" in the semis she was through to the finals and a chance at world championships, and all this after just 3 weeks of playing the game!

HershellaB later commented: "It was a hefty amount of tix no? But in ze end I felt zat I had ze favorable matchup advantage, ja?"
Eager eyes now cast there gaze toward Worlds in Berlin to see if this magic online rookie can repeat her fantastic online successes in real life.
A Wizards employee later denied rumors that anyone would even think of violating the magic online user agreement and play under someone else's password, or have multiple accounts.
