Sparksmith Shoots Self, Tries To Undo

By: crovax69 - April 16, 2003

In round one of an Onslaught Legions booster draft Monday, Magic Online enthusiast "alexander4496" became quite unhinged when his board dominating Sparksmith decided to commit suicide.

Alexander4496 was lucky enough to lead with the always-dreaded turn 2 Sparksmith. After slumping in his chair somewhat and cursing about how lucky newbies are, his opponent dropped a Morph and crossed his fingers, hoping that there would be no goblin to follow what may be the worst idea for a common card ever. To his very humiliating disappointment, however, the newbie followed up the turn 2 smith with a Goblin Lookout and looked set to take control of the game.

And then something snapped. Perhaps Sparksmith became tired of helping awful people win games they don't deserve. Perhaps he refused to help Goblin Lookout win a game. But in an unprecedented show of chivalry Sparksmith targeted himself.

Immediately afterward the very disappointed owner of the Sparksmith tried to keep the renegade goblin from committing the seemingly crazy act of suicide by clicking undo. After repeated attempts at undos, the smith was placed in the graveyard and 2 damage was dealt to the player. After spouting off several clever complaints such as "magik onlin sux" and "this is so stoopid" the beleaguered gamer passed the turn at 18 life.

His opponent then tapped 4 and unmorphed Exalted Angel.
