Black Woman Seen With Magical Card

By: markdash - October 30, 2001

Baltimore, MD- The rarest of all breeds among Magic: The Gathering players, a black female, was seen holding a sleeved magical card as she walked down First Ave in downtown Baltimore. The unidentified woman was spotted at approximately 11:17 AM EDT on Friday, October 26, holding a Foil Urza's Rage in her right hand as she proceeded up the 1400 block of 1st Ave. The woman in question then embarked on a bus before witnesses could ask any questions.

Since its inception in 1993, Magic: The Gathering has only had four confirmed black female players. The possibility that a fifth exists has brought new hope to the Magic community, especially among African American players. Rumors have already circulated in some circles that David Williams and Hashim Bello are competing in an attempt to woo the unknown woman. It is unknown at press time whether the woman purchased the card in an area card shop, opened it in a booster pack, or stole it.
