Anonymous User Reveals CoK To Magic Players
An anonymous message board user gave the members of MTGNews, and shortly thereafter the rest of the Magic: The Gathering community, a small taste of soon-to-come CoK on Thursday.
"AWSOME LOL!" was the common reaction.
"I can't wait to see more!" wrote many players after the unveiling.
Because plans called for an Oct. 1 release date, the premature showing is slightly embarrassing for Magic: The Gathering maker Wizards of the Coast.
"Since this is my CoK, I am naturally upset," said Mark Rosewater of Wizards. "I had plans for when I would show it all, but this is unacceptable.
"The crappy scan does not do the entire package justice."
Parents too, are outraged. "Why is a site for a card game showing pictures of someone's penis?" said one concerned parent.
The parent, this reporter's mother, hung up the phone before this reporter could explain to her the cleverness of the acronym "CoK" in relation to the Magic: The Gathering humor article reading community.
Shortly after said pictures were posted, they were removed by the MTGNews moderation staff. Moderators offered reasons behind the move.
"If Wizards wanted us to see CoK, they would have posted the pictures themselves," a sweaty Rancored Elf is quoted as saying, shortly before being Shocked at the proposition that he is adding the pictures to his personal collection.
"I have seen CoK already, there is no need for me to save these pictures. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the graveyard before this Rancor can return to my owner's hand."
The CoK sample was only a small portion of the entire highly anticipated CoK, being released the first of October.
