MiseTings Article Competition: Betrayers of Kamigawa

By: MB - January 11, 2005

Betrayers of Kamigawa
Hey there, long time, no updates! I must confess that I have not been adequately fufilling my duties As webmaster of this fine site. Without getting into details, my focus on upkeeping MiseTings has been blurred by personal matters, then business matters, then personal matters yet again. I'd say more, but it's personal . . . er, and business.

Anyway, let's not dwell on that. It's now a new year. With new years come new resolutions, new calendars, and new MiseTings Competitions.

Can I really make up for neglecting the front page of MiseTings for three months by giving away some cool prizes? Doubtful. But it can't hurt, am I right?

The Details

Ok, here's the deal. For the month of January, every article published on MiseTings will be eligible to win fabruous prize. All you have to do is submit a MiseTings article, and if it is determined to be one of the best (most entertaining and/or well written) articles of the month you will win fabruous prize.

Articles do not have to cover Betrayers of Kamigawa to be considered for this competition. You could, for example, roast MB for his neglect of MiseTings or write a sick and twisted Tsunami parody. Whatever works for you.

The most excellent article of all, as determined by MiseTings staff (ie. me) will win grandiose prize, which will be a sealed box of Betrayers boosters!

Hey, what did you expect, a copy of Eric "Danger" Taylor's extensive adult movie collection?

Several unspecified fabruous prize will be available for runners up.

Deadline:

All entries must be submitted by 3:00AM EST, Friday January 28.

Rules:

1) MB (that’s me!) will be the final judge of submissions and will determine the winner.
2) MB is unable to win the competition even if he writes the best article (unlikely in any event).
3) The prize is one box of Betrayers of Kamigawa boosters. There may be additional prizes for runners up. Cash will not be awarded.
4) The first prize will only be sent to U.S. addresses (sorry rest of the world). Everyone on the planet is eligible for runnner up "prizes", which are considered to be voluntary gifts from the webmaster.
5) The article must be exclusive – I don’t know why you would want to submit your work to ANYWHERE else, but if you do then it will not be eligible to win the competition.
6) Anonymous submissions are ineligible – just make an account, it’s not hard. ;)
7) After the winner is determined, A private message will be sent to the winner's MiseTings account to make arrangements to ship the prize.

Tips:

1) Humor good. Senseless derogatory remarks bad.
2) The further you stray from reality, the further the reader’s interest strays as well.
3) Picture = 1000 words. If you can find or create a suitable image, it will further the effectiveness of the article.
