Seems like we haven't seen a new article around here since the Ice Age. Must be about time for a MiseTings article competition. This time, the winner gets a shiny new booster box of Coldsnap.

The Details

Ok, here's the deal. From now until the release of Coldsnap (July 21st), every article published on MiseTings will be eligible to win. In addition, every article published (to the front page) at this time will earn it's author a small gift of three random booster packs. This small gift is not a prize or payment, but a small gift to say thank you for blessing us with your wit.

The winner will be determined by a top-secret proprietary method, which may take into account entertainment value, writing ability, public opinion, private opinion, and a myriad of other factors. A random method may also be used to determine the winner.

Articles do not have to cover Coldsnap to be considered for this competition. You could, for example, State Champs, the Pro Tour, Selecting Tenth Edition, or Magic Online 3.0.

The winner, as determined by MiseTings staff (ie. me) will win a most fantastic sealed box of Coldsnap boosters!

Deadline:

All entries must be submitted by 3:00AM EST, Friday July 21.


Rules:

1) MB (that’s me!) will be the final judge of submissions and will determine the winner.
2) MB is unable to win the competition even if he writes the best article (unlikely in any event).
3) The prize is one box of Coldsnap boosters. Cash will not be awarded.
4) The first prize will only be sent to U.S. addresses (sorry rest of the world). Everyone on the planet is eligible for three booster packs, per published article, which are considered to be voluntary gifts from the webmaster.
5) The article must be exclusive – I don’t know why you would want to submit your work to ANYWHERE else, but if you do then it will not be eligible to win the competition.
6) Anonymous submissions are ineligible – just make an account, it’s not hard. ;)
7) Please submit a mailing address with your article submission to be eligible to receive your prize or gift.

Tips:

1) Humor good. Senseless derogatory remarks bad.
2) The further you stray from reality, the further the reader’s interest strays as well.
3) Picture = 1000 words. If you can find or create a suitable image, it will further the effectiveness of the article.
