Trey Van Cleave Suspended

By: Anonymous - November 15, 2001

In recent news, long-time Grand Prix standout Trey Van Cleave has been suspended from DCI play for 365 days for his attempted bribe of Michael Sigrist during Pro Tour New Orleans.

Apparently the 3-time Grand Prix winner didn't bring enough krones to convince Sigrist, who declined the offer. Trey was most displeased with the results of the investigation. He said, "I have 36 Pro Points and they suspend me? I'm supposed to be immune! For God's sakes, I got five warnings for slow play at Worlds and I wasn't disqualified. I just don't understand."

Pro Tour Head Judge Mike 'Mountain of a Man' Guptil fondled his Warhammer of Justice while being interviewed about the suspension. He said, "We felt it was clear that Trey needed to be banned. Trey's offer of 100 DKK was simply far too little..." Jeff 'Grand Poobah of the DCI' Donais echoed the sentiment.
